- "Standardizes" the terminology in the medical record, thereby ensuring the proper, legal terminology is always displayed or printed. The physician can enter "synonyms" or abbreviations for convenience. In most cases, the physician can choose an item from the dictionary by merely clicking on the term from a "pop-up" or "pull-down" list.
- No need to remember ICD-9 codes, CPT codes, etc., although these are available when needed.
