Synopsis of Preventative Care

  • Provides a "standardized preventative care table", or synopsis, that indicates procedures, tests or studies, or educational objectives that should be performed or obtained (for all patients in the practice) based on the age and sex of the patient. The physician may electronically "sign" and date this table to indicate the item has been provided. The items in this table are derived from the recommendations of such organizations as AAFP and AAP.
Preventative Care
  • The Preventative Care Table may have "custom" items specific for an individual patient (in addition to the standardized items mentioned above).
  • The practice may search for and recall patients who have not had a particular item assessed.
  • Whenever the medical record is accessed, the physician is automatically alerted to any preventative care the patient requires. Furthermore, when an appointment is made for the patient, recommended preventative care items are shown along with demographic information to encourage scheduling a visit of appropriate length.
